Hermann Arnold

CEO & Member of the Board

Hermann is Co-founder and CEO of umantis. For years, Hermann has worked on topics of good employee management and the consequences of the Internet on leadership co-operation. He consults multinationals in project implementation, gives lectures at universities and conferences, and publishes in journals. Before co-founding umantis, he was active as an entrepreneur in several positions: as co-founder and CEO of b-to-v Partners, one of the leading private investor networks in Europe, as co-founder and chairman of START, a forum for entrepreneurs, and as co-founder of a computer training company for children between the ages of 6 and 14. Hermann completed his MBA at the University St. Gallen with majors in strategy and organisation. He wrote his thesis on the topic of «What can human resources management contribute to the value of a company».

Romeo Arpagaus

Leading Head of Research & Development

Romeo Arpagaus is responsible for the further development of the umantis product range and its market positioning. He graduated from the university of St. Gallen with a degree in economics with an emphasis on information and technology management. Before starting at umantis he was a business engineer at the Zurich Versicherung insurance company and worked for BSG Unternehmensberatung, an IT consultancy firm. During his first four years at umantis Romeo developed the consulting department.

Les Hayman

Member of the Board

Les Hayman has been Member of the Board of umantis since 2006. He chose umantis because of its ability to change the business world for the better and to create values. Les believes that a company’s employees are the only lasting competitive advantage. He is not just umantis Member of the Board, but also SAP Global Ambassador. He has more than 30 years of experience in development and maintenance of global networks and joint infrastructure. He had a global career and was in leading positions at SAP, Sun Microsystems, Caylx Software, Digital Equipment Corporation, North Canterbury Hospital Board und International Harvester. In particular he is a supporter of innovative initiatives in Europe, in order to make European companies competitive worldwide. Les is a graduate of the university of Monash with a degree in business administration.

Nicole Herzog

Member of the Board

Nicole Herzog is co-founder of umantis and member of the board.  Before umantis Nicole was co-founder of b-to-v Partners AG.  As COO of umantis Nicole was responsible for overall operations, as well as finance, legal, human resources and product management.  In the scope of her board membership Nicole is currently responsible for various legal aspects at umantis.  In addition she is responsible for data protection  compliance at umantis AG and umantis (Deutschland) GmbH.  Besides her activity at umantis, Nicole offers legal consulting to startups.  Nicole is a graduate of the University St. Gallen with a degree in law.

COO

Ghislaine Rogers is in charge of overall operations at umantis including finance, employee management, structure, processes, quality and efficiency. She is responsible for translating strategy into multiyear planning, leading management and employee processes, as well as defining the framework to perform. She stands out as a very successful manager and team motivator, combining transparent communication and clear execution. With a strong customer orientation, she successfully transitions internal services for the good of the company. Ghislaine has gained valuable experiences as an international program manager in financial, insurance, HR and space technology sectors. She went to school in France and graduated from ETH Zürich as a mechanical engineer.

Hans Schlegel

President of the Board

Hans Schlegel graduated from ETH Zurich, worked for Control Data in the US and France, before taking on the role of CIO at Hilti in Schaan and successfully completing the globalisation of SAP as a member of the board of SAP in Walldorf until 1994. Subsequently he was heavily involved in the international growth of IMG and IXOS and since 2000 he acts as a Business Angel and board member of various start up’s like Matchcode, viamedici, etc. Hans has been President of the Board at umantis since 2007 and uses his experiences in the growth and globalisation of IT companies for the good of the company.

Marc Stoffel

Leading Head of Business Development & Marketing

Marc Stoffel has worked in various responsible positions at umantis since 2005. Since 2009 he has the overall responsibility for sales and partnerships. Thanks to the different valuable experiences he gained from consulting to product development and product management, he possesses the know how for an outstanding sales customer service. Marc studied business informatics and has an MBA in Entrepreneurship. Before he came to umantis he gained important experiences in different positions within the software industry. In 2007 he was awarded the Hilti sponsorship award for the most innovative Master thesis.
