Qualified electronic signature
With certificate and time stamp. Requires signatory identification and other means of authentication. Equivalent to a handwritten signature and corresponds to the legal written form under Swiss and EU law.

Advanced electronic signature
With certificate and time stamp. Requires signatory identification and other means of authentication. Can be used if there is no formal requirement. Does not replace a handwritten signature.

Simple electronic signature
Simplest form of signature with digital time stamp. Can be used if there is no formal requirement. Does not replace a handwritten signature and does not fulfill any legal formal requirement where the written form is required by law.
